FUCHS Group, which operates globally in the lubricant industry, has just inaugurated a new plant in Ba Ria Vung Tau, Vietnam. The €9 million investment in this high-tech plant will enable FUCHS Vietnam to serve the growing demand and respond more quickly to the lubricating requirements of the local market. In addition, FUCHS's product range in Vietnam will be expanded and diversified to match the strong growth potential of the Vietnamese market. The official opening ceremony takes place on September 14, 2023.

High-tech factory 
The new plant covers an area of 20,000 m² and will be expanded in two phases of construction, the first of which has been completed. The modern plant includes offices, laboratories, production and packaging areas, base oil storage tanks and warehouses. Currently, the plant has the capacity to produce 20,000 tons per year, which is scalable in the second phase of construction. The high-quality production product range includes automotive oils, industrial oils, metal coolants and products for the mining industry, which FUCHS Vietnam will be able to offer customers from a single source in the future. Production will begin in Q4 2023.

Stefan Fuchs, Chairman of the Executive Board of FUCHS SE, appreciated the importance of this new plant: "I would like to express my gratitude to our joint venture partner, Mr. Nguyen Mai Son, for his vision and commitment to FUCHS and the Vietnamese market. Without his support, this construction would not have been possible. Our Vietnam joint venture with the co-owner of STD&S Co., Ltd. paved the way for the FUCHS Group in this important market and laid the foundation for another important base in Asia."

FUCHS has been operating in Vietnam since 2013
FUCHS has been operating in Vietnam with a sales office since 2013. In 2021, FUCHS Group acquired a 70% stake in the lubricant business of STD&S Co., Ltd., a specialty lubricant distributor based in Vietnam. The business was merged into FUCHS LUBRICANTS VIETNAM CO., LTD. in which the owner of STD&S Co., Ltd. holds 30% of the shares. By the end of 2023, FUCHS LUBRICANTS VIETNAM will increase its workforce to 35 employees. In the 2022 financial year, the company achieved sales in the range of millions of euros.
